Cultural Council of Indian River County

The Nonprofit Media Breakfast will be held in October of even-numbered years

beginning in 2020.

Every year the Cultural Council hosts the Nonprofit Media Breakfast so attendees can meet Representatives of local media to learn how best to submit their news stories for magazines, newspapers and radio.

This session brings together representatives from local print, radio, and electronic media outlets for the purpose of providing practical tips to nonprofit staff and volunteers about how best to publicize their charitable causes, special events and programs in our community.

By joining us, you will help your organization to be aware of new trends and stay updated about media outlet requirements for submitting your news and information. You will also have the opportunity to provide packets of promotional materials from your group to the expected 18 media participants.

Here is what to expect: After registration, everyone is invited to help themselves to a continental breakfast and be seated at their assigned table. Following a brief introduction, media representatives will make short presentations and then move from table to table every 7 to 8 minutes. Nonprofit participants will stay seated while the media representatives rotate around the room until each table hears from every speaker. Additional time is being scheduled at the conclusion of the program for your follow-up questions and informal conversation with media attendees.

Because this type of event requires significant planning and coordination, you are being asked to make a reservation in advance. Pre-payment is requested - by check, credit card, or on-line via our website at right.

The cost for the breakfast and workshop is $25. For reservations or more information, please call our office at 772-770-4857 or contact

We hope you will plan to take advantage of this valuable opportunity and pass this invitation along to others who may be interested.

Please note that registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the program will start promptly at 8:30 a.m.
