Florida's "State of the Arts" License Plate

Florida offers dozens of specialty license plates for those who want to assist their particular area of interest. For those who love the performing arts, the literary arts, the visual arts, cultural events and activities, then the Florida "State of the Arts" plate is a great way to help fund those cultural organizations.

The first-time cost of the specialty plate is $32 more than the usual renewal fee and all funds stay in the county where the tag is purchased. Of the tag price, $20 is tax-deductible. Future arts plates are $22 more than the usual renewal fee.

Don your evening attire and experience a night of glorious music and luscious hors d’oeuvres at Palacia del Rio, a luxurious private residence on Friday, April 9 at 6:30 PM. The performance features Angela Mortellaro, Soprano; Sean Stork, Baritone; Karen Zarandona, Accompanist/Soprano and Joshua Zaradona, Emcee/Tenor as well as the Sarasate Strings featuring Matt Stott, Violin I; Fom Fritz, Violin II, Wendy Karabensh, Viola and Joe Loehnis, Cello.  Tickets are $100 per person and all proceeds will benefit the Cultural Council of Indian River County.  For tickets, call 770-4857 or order them online at the Cultural Council’s E-Store

Upcoming Meetings

Cultural Advisory Committee

The Cultural Advisory Committee (CAC) is comprised of all the Nonprofit Members of the Cultural Council. The next Cultural Advisory Committee Meeting is scheduled for March 4, 2010, at the Florida Irish-American Society, 1314 20th Street (Better known as Route 60 Westbound) in Downtown Vero Beach. All members are invited to attend.  Lunch is Available for $6, please RSVP to provide a head count for the cook!


Nonprofit Forum

The next Nonprofit Forum Meeting, open to all nonprofits doing business in Indian River County, is scheduled for April 14 at 9am at the Heritage Center in Vero Beach.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee usually meets on the second Thursday of each month at 4pm. The next meeting is scheduled for March 11, at 4 pm at the Cultural Council Office.

Art in Public Places

The Art in Public Places Committee meets quarterly, to coincide with exhibit displays. The upcoming meetings are as follows:
 
March 18
June 17
September 16

All meetings are at 10:00 am at the Cultural Council office, 2036 14th Ave. #103.

Board of Directors Meetings

The Board of Directors meets on the Fourth Thursday of each month, with the exception of November & December, when the full board meets on the Second Thursday of those months, due to the Holidays.

The next scheduled Board of Directors' Meeting is at 4pm on March 25, location to de determined
