Each year we make available educational scholarships to qualified senior students attending Treasure Coast area high schools, junior colleges and preparatory schools. We offer auditions to those students who have a desire to major in advanced music, music education, or who want to further hone their musical talents, including jazz. Since the program's inception the Treasure Coast Jazz Society has awarded nearly $100,000 to over 40 scholarship winners.

Scholarship Program: In 1997 VBCS established a scholarship program to assist Indian River County high school seniors who planned to major in music at the college/university level. Since then, each year a $1000 scholarship is awarded to a new student, and is renewable for three more years if the student remains in good standing as a music major. Candidates may apply through forms available at their schools and are interviewed and auditioned by the scholarship judges. Contributions to this fund are tax deductible and acknowledged by our treasurer to provide documentation.

FAU’s Lifelong Learning Society “exists to provide a forum for intellectual exchange and stimulation, which can promote the health of mind, body and spirit and enhance the community's overall quality of life.” Their courses help students “expand their understanding of a changing world, broaden their knowledge of civil, moral and global issues and enhance their general well-being." Partners with Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution (see below) and the Vero Beach Museum of Art (see below).

The Garden of Art hosts a variety of art classes including Acrylic, Oil, Mixed Media, Watercolor, Plein Air, Mosaic Glass Work and many others. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced classes are offered. Morning and evening classes available. Many of our artists that are currently in the gallery teach the classes. Sign up today! The Heritage Center (Vero Heritage, Inc.)
Swing Dance lessons are offered before the weekly Big Band Dances. Lectures and special programs are presented during the winter season.

Indian River Charter H/S - Schumann School for Visual & Performing arts (VAPA)
The mission of this school provides high school students an environment of learning to excel in the fine arts. The artistic disciplines that are offered, beyond the basic Florida High School graduation requirements, are in dance, drama, music (vocal and instrumental), and visual arts. The school offers two tracks of learning, one for the student who has already had significant training in an artistic area and wishes to work more diligently in that area, and the other for the student who wishes to explore his interest in the creative arts.

Riverside Children's Theatre
As the educational arm of Riverside Theatre, RCT offers after-school and Saturday classes in drama, dance, voice, video and technical theatre for students ages 4 and up. Classes take place at the Agnes Wahlstrom Youth Playhouse, the Gifford Youth Activities Center, Boys and Girls Club and at local schools as part of after-school programming.

Vero Beach Recreation Department
Over three decades of continuous performing arts classes have made the Vero Beach Recreation Department's unique program the most established and innovative, multi-disciplined program in our area. Various classes combine to build the "all around" performer. Development in gymnastics, ballet, acrobatics, cheer dance, circus, aerial, adagio; all disciplines of dance art skills; costume and set design; stage direction and production skills are taught, practiced and accomplished.

VBMA's Education Department has a vast offering of classes for adults and children. The Museum Art School offers classes in all media as well as Master Artists Workshops, and has a foundry onsite. Public programs for adults include the International Lecture Series, the Distinguished Professor series, Film Studies, Opera Studies, and more. Vero Beach Opera, Inc.
In partnership wtih the Vero Beach Museum of Art, the VBO's Opera Studies Programs are offered at the museum's Leonhardt Auditorium on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Typically, these are studies of world wide operatic materials consisting of an in-depth analytical review of segments and/or of complete operas, their composers, the period when they were written and when they were first performed. A viewing or audio/visual presentations of segments and/or a full length films of operatic works is displayed.
Vero Classical Ballet
A school teaching the world-renowned Vaganova Method, which has produced such dancers as Baryshnikov, Makarova, Nureyev, Ulanova, Plisetskaya and Goudonov. The school offers a pre-professional program for ages 3 through 7, a professional program for ages 8 through 18, and adult classes. Training includes all the elements of Classical Ballet: Pointe, Pas de Deux, Character, Variations and Men's Class.
