About the Cultural Council of Indian River County
Cultural Council History In February 1995, the Cultural Council of Indian River County was incorporated in the State of Florida as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. In March of that same year, the Indian River County Commission designated the CCIRC as the Local Arts Agency for Indian River County. The Cultural Council’s mission is “to nurture a cooperative environment in which cultural and educational organizations and individuals may thrive and thereby enrich the quality of life in Indian River County for all residents and visitors.” With the support of individuals and organizations throughout our area, the Cultural Council of Indian River County has been active in the community for many years. Cultural Council Mission To promote the cultural arts in Indian River County through education, collaboration, marketing, and advocacy. Cultural Council Services As your Cultural Council, we: provide avenues for nonprofit and artist networking, information-sharing, and collaboration; provide technical assistance and professional development on nonprofit management issues; encourage cooperation amongst nonprofit organizations to maximize resources and minimize competition; promote local artists through our registry of member artists in the visual, performing, and literary arts; facilitate public art exhibitions in county buildings; promote member artists and organizations and their events on our website, in the weekly Cultural Connection, in other print media, and on the radio; coordinate organizations' profiles and event dates to publish both an annual Cultural Event Planner calendar and a bi-annual Cultural Guide and Map, distributed locally and statewide; support community efforts to foster economic development, cultural tourism and community planning. Our Affiliations The Cultural Council of Indian River County is a proud member of the following organizations: Americans for the Arts Association of Fundraising Professionals, Indian River Chapter Florida Association of Local Arts Agencies Florida Cultural Alliance Florida Humanities Council Official Registration The Cultural Council of Indian River County, Inc. is registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services under Chapter 496, Florida Statutes, the Solicitation of Contributions Act (registration number CH5921). We do not have a professional fundraiser. The Cultural Council of Indian River County is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Donations become the property of the Cultural Council of Indian River County.
